2014, Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Château Haut Philippon, Bordeaux France

Some oak is present on the nose, alongside the aromas of green fruit. An expressive wine, with tangy fruit flavours backed by refreshing acidity and bracing minerality. This is superb value in high-quality Entre-Deux-Mers. Pair with fish or seafood, green salads with goat cheese, or chicken in a mustard-cream sauce with asparagus and chives.

2014, Bonarda, Don Cristóbal 1492, Mendoza Argentina

Bonarda from Argentina – still relatively new on the scene here north of the equator.  A rich, inky ruby colour in the glass, it shows pretty floral notes and blackcurrant, plum and mulberry aromas and flavours. Moderate tannins and a good texture on the palate, with good length.
