We have no idea where Rod is but he left us some wine to pour for $5/glass.

Casal de Ventozela Loureiro 2014, Vinho Verde, Portugal

Dry and very nicely done, this is tightly wound and relatively concentrated for the style and price category. Focused, clean, crisp and penetrating on the finish, it shows fine fruit and some underlying minerality. The purity of fruit here makes it a particular pleasure. It should be a very nice bargain at street pricing. As always, this is a wine meant to be drunk young and fresh, so it is best used that way, but it may hold a bit better than most.

Strozzi Titolato Chianti Colli Senesi 2014, Tuscany, Italy

Wine was first produced at the Villa Cusona estate, where this wine is sourced, in the 13th century. It will offer aromas of dried fruit and dried flowers with cherry, herbs and earth undertones. The palate shows good balance and depth with nicely articulated fruit.
